An artist sculpted wire into tree leaves and another beat a drum as I walked from tent to tent and avoided stepping on pooches while the smell of kettle corn followed me.
Excellent weather and excellent location led to healthy traffic flow during the 16th Annual Downtown Dunedin Art Festival last weekend.
Dunedin’s art show highlighted a decent variety of skills. Naturally the majority of mediums were paintings and jewelry. As a regular, curious onlooker, it was easy for many of the tents to get blurred together in my mind. Luckily, if something grabbed my attention, the tent’s attendant (often the artist themselves) was ready to answer any questions.Perhaps unbeknownst to the event’s organizers, there were art thieves among the guests… in the form of a four-legged dog invasion! Dunedin… aka Dog-edin… loves dogs and everywhere you looked, mini crowds gathered to coo at the pets while their owners attempted to enjoy the arts.
It was a cultural experience with gorgeous weather in a very cute part of Tampa Bay.
