On January 15, 2011 the skies above the Treasure Island beaches of Florida were dotted with kites of all shapes and sizes… and these weren’t just the typical diamond-shaped floaters. In fact, if I had brought my proud flying dragon boat kite (that I keep in my car waiting for the perfect wind), I probably would have been laughed at.
You’re welcome to look at my (few) pictures of the event– just click here or on my pictures. Be thankful you can watch these from the comfort of your computer, it was an unnaturally cold Florida day enhanced by the wind.
Try and go next year! Admission is free and anybody who competes with a kite or shows off their own displays immediate coolness.
